A delegation led by the Personal Assistant to the President on Constituency Projects, Hajiya Khadijat Omotayo Kareem, visited Katsina State to inspect ongoing and abandoned Federal Government projects.

Upon arrival, the delegation began with an inspection of the 132/33KV substation project in Kankia. Hajiya Khadijat Omotayo Kareem noted that the project is 95% complete, with expectations of finalization soon. This project, initially started during the tenure of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, had been halted until recently.

The team also visited the abandoned wind power project at Lambar Rimi, left untouched for over 15 years. Plans are underway to construct a solar power station at the site with a capacity of 10 megawatts, a project initiated during President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.

Furthermore, the delegation inspected the neglected power substation in Katsina. Mrs. Kareem stated that the purpose of the visit was to review these Federal Government projects to ensure their continuation and to revive those that have been stalled or left unattended.

In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Power, Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim, mentioned that the Governor of Katsina has already sent a request to the President seeking approval to proceed with the Lambar Rimi power project for the benefit of the community.
